Stepping away from what ever is left of my bed, I paused to think. I have a job, I have friends, I have Mamita and Lola, and I'm single. But somehow something is missing, it wasn't something that most people would think that they've missed in thei lives and its not the special someone with all the smutty details either. I still lack something to at least give that feeling of fulfillment, and the it freaks me out whenever I think of it.

One rainy day before work, I happened to stumble along with Sol, our friendly MC at work. It was 2 hours early for my shift and we both decided to grab some booze before work which was quite unethical... But hey, we're men so to hell with it. So we found ourselves drinking in a small restobar eating sisig, talking about work and the political regime, kiss-ass employees, pay discrepancies, hierarchical posistions, and the usual beer talk. After a couple of bottles, and again it hit me. While looking at my bottle I realized that my life as of the moment is like the other "happy-go-lucky" individuals working in Ortigas and other buisiness districts. I'm a 21-year old unsuccessful graduate in the middle of loosing it because of that "something" in my life that I lack. Thinking that I was drunk, Sol tapped me out of limbo. It was almost 8pm, his time to work. So we headed out, he went to work, while I went to Mini Stop for some snaks and load.

At around 8:15pm, I recieved a text message from Kathy saying that she wants me to treat her to a Big Chill. I replied by saying that Im at Mini Stop and that if she wants her Chill, she has to come and get it. After a rally of text messages, we eventually met each other at Mini Stop. Saying the usual "musta?" lines, we ended up talking about work and I did mention my interest in her profession. Something I really thought I'd be when I graduate, a programmer. And in my mind I uttered "Maybe that is it... What if..."

Having dipensed with the ending pleasantries, we said our good-byes and walked out of the scene in opposite directions. With me having something to look forward to...
